**Description**:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Student and Diversity Affairs, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment and admission programing, services and processes. The position acts on student recruitment and admission matters in the absence of the Senior Director of Student and Diversity Affairs.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Counsel students on admissions matters in accordance with University of Illinois Chicago UIC (University of Illinois Chicago) and the College of Dentistry policies and guidelines.
- Participate in all phases of the admissions and records process at the College and University level.
- Be familiar with assessment techniques and tools that will support a holistic admissions process approach to recruit and admit a diverse class representing the population of Illinois.
- Prepare various reports as needed by the admissions committee.
- Prepare and update presentations and documents utilized for various stages of the admissions process.
- Has working knowledge of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), Associated American Dental Schools Application Services (AADSAS) and the Centralized Application for Advanced Placement for International Dentists (CAAPID) databases.
- Participate in outreach activities for prospective students both on and off-campus.
- Visit colleges and universities in Illinois to meet with pre-health advising professionals and to promote the school to potential applicants.
- Maintain and update the Admissions Office’s recruitment and marketing plans to continuously promote the College’s visibility and general recruitment efforts. This includes website page maintenance, editing, and updating. Creating and updating flyers and presentations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications Required**:

- Bachelor’s degree.
- A total of one (1) year (12 months) work experience working directly with students in a higher education setting. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Outstanding skills in oral and written communication, including public presentations.
- Experience with Dental Education
- Knowledge of University Reporting for Student Data
- Working knowledge of marketing and communication strategies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Banner, Slate, as well as other UIC software and databases
- Ability to make Occasional weekend and evening hours required for programming and events.
