REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Complies with ATC policies/procedures. * Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures. * Documents accurately and completely services provided. * Maintains confidentiality relative to patient care and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. * Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel. * Provides required care while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. * Provides patient services in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved * Advocates patient rights with respect to advance directives. * Provides continuous nursing assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs and corresponding therapeutic interventions. * Administers chemotherapy as ordered by the physician. * Administers immunotherapy, blood, and blood products. * Assists in symptom management. * Coordinates internal and external resources. * Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques. * Ability to access various chemotherapy ports and access lines. * Initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation in age appropriate manner, in accordance with facility protocols, and applicable advance directives. * Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs and meets state specific requirements. * Complies with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice as set forth by the American Nurses Association or equivalent nursing organization.
