Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at American Oncology Network, Inc. as a Hematology/Oncology Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, following OSHA and HRS guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and document treatment rendered in OncoEMR.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures, including I.D. policy and procedure, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Provide education to patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in chemotherapy classes and interact with patients and families in a caring, professional manner.
  • Manage telephone triage, prioritizing calls and messages from patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Assist with inventory and restocking medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed.
  • Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus and perform cycle counts.
  • Enter patient charges into Nucleus and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and participate in training new employees.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
  • Experience working with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Current CPR & BLS certifications.
  • Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's license for travel to clinics.
