Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at American Oncology Network, Inc. as an Oncology Nurse Specialist. This role will involve providing exceptional patient care and support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, following OSHA and HRS guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and document treatment rendered in OncoEMR.
  • Follow the Company's I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter.
  • Teach chemotherapy classes as needed and educate patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans.
  • Provide telephone triage services, prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, and healthcare providers.
  • Assist with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed.
  • Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus and perform cycle counts.
  • Enter patient charges into Nucleus and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings and mandatory staff meetings.
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist in training new employees and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
  • Experience working with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications.
  • Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's license for travel to clinics.
