The primary purpose of this position is to research new bankruptcy cases. Once a case is found to have delinquent taxes for one of the Firm’s clients, prepare claims and Notice of Appearances. In addition, will key in this data into BankTools and code account(s) in Tax Tools. Only handles Chapter 11 personal and business as well as Chapter 7 Business cases.

Responsibilities:

Research new bankruptcy cases Chapter 11 and business Chapter 7.

Prepares claims and notice of appearances.

Input new case info into Bank Tools.

Prepares claims for Court Costs & Fees.

Contacts various Firm staff and jurisdictions for tax information.

Review mail daily, for possible bankruptcy cases that need claims prepared.

Complete special projects in connection to amending claims for property tax actuals.

Occasionally may perform duties within the scope of the job
Assisting with research of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.

E-filing Proof of Claims and Notice of Appearances with various courts, as needed.

Assigned time-slot to handle incoming department calls and emails.

Qualifications:

Organization

Flex ability to move from one Chapter to the next

MS Word – Intermediate level

Excel – Beginner level

Self-Starter

Ability to work with numbers
Must be good with numbers

Must be able to handle high volume work load

Must be familiar with the Bankruptcy Schedules

Must be able to make analytical decisions
