Stanford's new Ecopreneurship Programs operate at the intersection of the Graduate School of Business and the new Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS). The Graduate School of Business (GSB) has built a global reputation for immersive and innovative entrepreneurship programs. And SDSS draws on a deep understanding of Earth, climate, and society to create solutions at a global scale. The new Ecopreneurship Programs leverage the strengths of both schools to inspire and support students from across Stanford University to explore climate and sustainability challenges facing our planet and to utilize entrepreneurship and innovation to create impactful solutions.

The Ecopreneurship Programs team is seeking an Associate Director (AD) to lead the planning and execution of an array of curricular programs serving students and faculty from across the university, outlined below.

This is a full-time two-year Fixed-Term position and is campus-based with limited hybrid flexibility which requires four days/week onsite presence.

Your primary responsibilities include:

Lead all strategic planning and implementation of curricular ecopreneurship programs, including:
    • Work closely with faculty across the university to help develop syllabi, curriculum, and logistical infrastructure for key ecopreneurship courses. Particularly in the first year, this role will support the development of a new course on scaling sustainability innovations.Assist in the logistical coordination and execution of some key ecopreneurial courses throughout the year as needed.Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends related to the intricate landscape of sustainability-focused classes and programs across the university; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new curricular programming to meet the needs of ecopreneurial students across campus.Regularly advise students and faculty about classes and other resources available to them across the university as they pursue learning about ecopreneurship Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.May advise students and/or coach/mentor clients on their particular ecopreneurial projects.Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.Coach and mentor program staff.Center equity and inclusion in your work and interactions with othersManage individual program budgets
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
    • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.Ability to oversee and direct staff.Ability to manage budgets and develop financial plans.Excellent program/project management skills. Ability to plan, organize, and implement a program with a high volume of diverse activities across multiple programs.Excellent interpersonal skills, and a comfort working with a wide variety of personalitiesAutonomy and inherent motivation to create high-quality workExcellent attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent data analysis skills enabling the assessment of program impact, and uncovering opportunities for continuous program improvement.

In addition, preferred requirements include:
    • A broad awareness of the multitude domestic and global environmental sustainability issues and an ability to quickly get up to speed on any specific issueExperience teaching or developing curriculum for any age group Experience or familiarity with, and interest in, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial learning, or startups.Experience working in higher educationThe ability to empathize with or relate to the population of students across the university Being comfortable navigating ambiguity, and the spirit to "build the airplane while it's flying"Ability to build structure and processes where there are noneExperience and comfort with Google Suite products (e.g. Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Docs, etc.) which the GSB uses heavily

The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000.00 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
