Our client, a software product-based industry, is seeking a program manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have Microsoft tech skills, coordination, and team operational support, which will align successfully in the organization.
 
Job Title: Project manager IT
Location: Redmond, Washington, BLDG 88 (1-2days onsite)
Pay Range:  $40 - $50/hr on W2

Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: The team is responsible for the development of laptops and tablets; manage the process of hardware and software implementation, leveraging the internal employees to test the products and provide feedback. This ensures the products being created showcase the best representation, and the employees use the products in work settings and consumer settings. The team is a bridge between the prelaunch and postlaunch processes.
• Key projects: This role is looking at prototypes that have already shipped to market so that the team can develop things that are happening before the product is launched. This team has a commitment with the product launch engineering team to manage the process after they go to the market as they push out new bugs or updates. The team needs a resource to be able to manage that process; make sure the team is still recruiting people for our programs and keeping things moving forward after they launch the product.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meetings, 40% managing inventory (keeping track of what's being used and budget), and 50% providing tech support or troubleshooting for issues that come up and working through those.

Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years of experience are required for the role.
• Degrees or certifications required: There are no specific degrees or certifications required for the role.
• Disqualifiers: Candidates with less than 18 months of access will not be reviewed for the role. As well as resumes with poor grammar and limited detail provided in past roles, and if the resume says IT experience, it may not be relevant to what this team does.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would have hardware experience, which means developing hardware would stand out to the sponsor, project management, program management, or product management experience. The best sponsor hired as a vendor that now is on an FTE on the team came from a software company where she walked the sponsor through how she started a brand-new project and really drove that to fruition. That was the perfect representation for the sponsor, as he had a good understanding of how she thought about things and how she handled problems or issues that came up and then eventually was successful. If the candidate hasn't run a project but explained how they worked on product development and explained what his/her contribution was, it would stand out to the sponsor.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, quality of work, and feedback from the team.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
• Minimum 0-2 years experience with a product launch.
• Minimum 0-2 years experience with project or program management.
• Minimum 0-2 years experience with PCs.

Hard Skills Assessments
• Expected dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: ASAP
• Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 1 round.
• Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should have prior experience and be able to speak on their resume prepared prior to the assessment.

Interface with client on technical and/or project matters from project initiation through delivery. Create and maintain program/project schedules and status reports. Create the functional specifications and/or requirements or scope that will be used as a tool in making decisions as to how the product, service, and/or project will be implemented. Provide technical and/or analytical information and receive input and approval as required. Organize cross-functional activities, ensuring that the program/project is completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
