KARL STORZ is currently recruiting at Senior Accountant – Corporate Accounting.  This position will support: month-end and year-end close, analysis & reporting, Accounts Receivable, Liquidity, the transformation of these processes, the standard work, internal controls, including intercompany routine and quarter end and statutory procedures. Routine duties in addition: year-end statutory, reporting and business partnering. Project duties will range from transformation and improvement of shared service processes inside KARL STORZ’s internal controls framework, to assisting manufacturing and purchasing and supply chain operations in improving/ simplifying end-to-end business processes, eliminating waste whilst adhering to robust internal controls and compliance standards. 

 

This is a hybrid position that is based in our Charlton, MA office and required to work onsite 3 days per week. 

 

Responsibilities

 


Partner with department heads in understanding cost drivers and variances to achieve productivity targets
Draft high-quality commentary for monthly financial statements
Identify and investigate discrepancies
Follow transactions through SAP, address issues with IT
Prepare account reconciliations, research, and book corrections
Prepare and post journal entries
Prepare supporting documents for external auditors
Prepare/distribute recurring deliverables
Create documentation of accounting procedures
Suggest and implement process improvements
Capable of leading projects, with strong follow-up ability
Provides leadership and guidance to other Accountants
Capable of leading group training
Prepares position papers, perform GAAP research online
Reconciles intercompany balances with subsidiaries


     

Requirements

 


5+ years of experience; 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
Strong understanding of financial accounting and G/L transactions
Experience with accounting and cost accounting concepts
Demonstrated history of process improvement implementation
Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data as a basis for process improvement recommendations and implement solutions
Strong skills in Excel
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Available to work after normal business hours as needed to meet business needs and deadlines.

Tableau knowledge (Preferred)
Audit experience preferred.
Experienced in SAP (Preferred)
