Department of Campus ServicesCustodial Services WorkerCairn University's Department of Campus Services is seeking to fill the full-time, year-round Custodial Services Worker. The position reports to the Vice President for Campus Operations. Typical hours are 40 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additional or altered hours may be scheduled to assist with departmental staffing needs and special events. This full-time position is eligible for a comprehensive employee benefits package.The Department of Campus Services exists to maintain Cairn University facilities, including buildings, grounds, and vehicles, in a clean, healthy, and safe condition conducive to an excellent learning environment and attractive to guests. Campus Services also strives to enhance and protect existing facilities by means of infrastructure improvements and renovations and plays a key role in the planning process for new facilities. Position Summary The Custodial Service Worker executes housekeeping tasks interior and exterior to campus buildings and dormitories and performs minor maintenance tasks within campus buildings and campus grounds. He/she also performs a variety of custodial duties required to maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive physical environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.RequirementsThe position of Custodial Service Worker requires the ability to lift and carry trash, supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis; prolonged walking or standing, and frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching daily. A full range of physical motion is required to lift, gather, and carry. Requires the ability to access facilities and areas which may only be accessible by climbing stairs. Persons serving in this role must be able to move throughout assigned areas, as the work is performed primarily indoors, year-round, but requires regular entry and exit indoors-to-outdoors. Employees in this job classification (job title) are designated as essential employees and must report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather.This position requires a high school diploma and the ability to read and follow instructions for mixing cleaning solutions and operating equipment, as needed. A valid motor vehicle operator's license and clean driving record is required.Safety gear such as goggles, gloves, and/or other appropriate protective clothing may be required when refuse is being collected, and when exposure to bio waste, use or removal of chemicals is required.Serving at Cairn UniversityLocated in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Cairn University exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated and professionally competent men and women of character.
