Job Title: Paraprofessional

The Judge Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support to students with special needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to implement effective educational programs and provide individualized instruction and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction and support to students in various areas, including cognitive, gross and fine motor skills, feeding skills, self-help skills, and behavior control.
  • Assist teachers in maintaining the health and safety of physically handicapped students by being aware of the environment and potential hazards.
  • Assist students with personal hygiene, including washing hands and faces, toileting, and changing diapers and clothing as needed.
  • Monitor and control student behavior in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assist other specialists with physical development activities.
  • Prepare students for mainstreamed classes according to established procedures.
  • Attend periodic and special training and in-services related to medical interventions and instructional programs as required.
  • Assist students with braces and other orthopedic equipment to lift, position, and reposition students as needed.
  • Assist teachers in maintaining various records related to student progress.
  • Implement positive behavior intervention support policies.
  • Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff as needed.
  • Assist students in social interactions. Work cooperatively with others and independently as needed.
  • Perform other duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Special Education or Behavioral Health preferred.
  • First Aid Certificate including CPR.
