This position has multiple job openings and may be filled at multiple levels.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Construct new ground test systems of space station environmental control and life support hardware

+ Aid in design and build of thermal fluid; water reclamation; high pressure oxygen, nitrogen, methane and hydrogen; chemical bed; and vacuum exhaust systems

+ Assemble and maintain test stands, both mechanically and electrically

+ Maintain lab areas

+ Work with engineers to provide guidance and recommendations on design for manufacturability

+ Work collaboratively with engineering, support detailed test activity planning, test readiness reviews, and flight support as needed

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education & Experience**

+ Required: 5-10 years in mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience or a combined equivalent of education and experience

+ Required: Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic modeling/hardware assembly

+ Required: Knowledge of harness and cable hardware assembly, Mil-Spec qualified connector crimp and solder assembly (MIL-DTL-38999, etc.)

+ Required: Basic knowledge of pressure systems and components including regulators, filters, gauges, safety relief devices, valves, tubing, fittings (JIC, 37 flare, ORB, NPT, AN, Compression, etc), fans and pumps

+ Required: Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components, including low and high power DC and low and high power AC circuits/distribution systems

+ Required: Able to use basic and advanced hand tools, measuring devices

+ Required: Comprehend and provide input to procedures, drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, hazard analyses, and job safety analyses

+ Required: Able to abide by all Axiom/NASA safety requirements

+ Required: Ability to handle multiple assignments and work in a dynamic environment

+ Preferred: Associate degree or certification in the art

+ Preferred: Some machining knowledge/skills

+ Preferred: Ability to travel occasionally

**Essential Functions**

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

**Requirements**

+ Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

+ Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

+ Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

**Physical Requirements**

+ Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. (5% of the time).
