WSP USA is initiating a search for a BIM Lead Consultant out of our CO & TX Area Offices. The WSP BIM Lead Consultant is responsible for implementing and supervising drawing and modeling standards, managing drawing production, and performing non-routine and complex drafting and modeling assignments through the use of various software programs, primarily OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenRoads ConcepStation and iTwin Platform. The BIM Lead Consultant will report to WSP USA's National Transportation Digital Delivery team and is also responsible for implementing BIM initiatives throughout the Texas-SW Region such as providing guidance to staff with regards to training, company standards, and modeling. Responsible for performing project BIM and Information Management functions for major transportation infrastructure projects, the BIM Project Leader will be well versed in information management process and have previous experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery and exchange. The BIM Project Leader will also be responsible for managing BIM project delivery both internally and externally to WSP on projects and should have experience running coordination and production delivery meetings. To accomplish this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Your Impact Advanced knowledge of OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenRoads ConcepStation and iTwin Platform, including advanced modeling, template creation, drawing package management, clash detection and scripting. Ability to anticipate and recognize issues related to own work. Ability to gather appropriate resources in order to solve problems. Self-educates and mentor other drafting staff, as well as engineers in BIM techniques. Assists project/design managers by providing input on schedule and production tasks. Believes in and champions the firm's core values and inspires others to do the same. Understands overall project scope, the role of BIM team, and the roles of other disciplines for a project. Demonstrates an intermediate level of written and verbal communication both internally and externally. Experience monitoring and successfully managing time spent versus time allocated for task completion. Understands basic firm financial terms and concepts. Champions model and drawing quality standards. Assists with managing the development and output of document sets for WSP engineering staff. Performs Bentley project setups and updates with some direction of engineering staff with some supervisory guidance. Implement drawing organization for large, complex drawing packages across multiple companies. Facilitates collaboration and clash detection for a large, multi-discipline project team across multiple companies. Troubleshoots general Bentley project-related issues with limited assistance of department management. Participates in Bentley development. Develops and mentors staff on WSP Bentley standards and processes. Self-Checks own work, and staff’s, to identify QA/QC improvement opportunities. Leverages tools and technology to provide quality solutions to BIM team and staff. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience.) 7-10 years’ experience using Bentley technologies within the A/E/C industry 6 + years’ experience with Open/Connect Bentley Civil design, documentation and management Experience and understanding of document management applications (ProjectWise, Sharepoint, iTwin, ACC, BIM 360, etc.) Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems. Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude. Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others. Applied Learning - Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience. Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures. Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. Initiative - Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
