Job Description:
Vero Fiber is seeking a passionate and results-driven Site Supervisor for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) to oversee the installation and quality assurance of fiber optic networks to residential homes. This role requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This is a unique opportunity for a talented professional to make a lasting impact on the expansion of high-speed internet access.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities related to FTTH installation and maintenance.
  2. Liaise with Project Managers and Construction Managers to report progress, address issues, and implement solutions
  3. Ensure that Vero Fiber systems are up to date and reflect what is happening in the field in real time
  4. Provide regular reports and updates to the senior management team regarding potential issues, pain points, and concerns related to the construction process
  5. Partnering with the community relations team to provide oversight and support to resolve construction complaints and damages, ensuring all construction related issues are resolved within 72 hours by the respective team
  6. Provide an excellent customer service experience to all residents and stakeholders in construction areas
  7. Travel from site to site within a geographical area throughout the construction process

Key Objectives:
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Oversee the installation of fiber optic cables, including splicing, termination, and testing.
    • Ensure all installations comply with engineering specifications and quality standards.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fiber optic networks.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications. Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols.
    • Document and report any deviations from standards or specifications.
  • Safety Management:
    • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
    • Conduct safety briefings and ensure all team members are trained on safety protocols.
    • Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns related to FTTH installations. Provide technical support and guidance to customers as needed.
    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and team performance.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on project status.
    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Desired Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 1-3years of experience in telecommunications or fiber optic network installation.

Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of FTTH technology and installation processes. Proficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment and tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience across Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Sharepoint, and Excel. GIS experience preferred.

Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and resource management abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Certifications:
Certifications in fiber optic installation and safety (e.g., FOA CFOT, OSHA) are highly desirable.

Qualification:
Be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:
Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces. May require flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines. Active driver's license required.
