Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

The Traffic Control General Foreman will manage multiple areas within a designated region or state. This role involves daily communication with clients and ensuring that team members execute their responsibilities in providing the safest, highest quality, and most customer-focused service in the traffic control sector. The General Foreman is tasked with developing their team and offering operational support for field activities. This position is primarily field-based, with approximately 80% of time spent on-site overseeing job locations, conducting safety audits, and ensuring quality assurance for our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee field operations, manage job sites, conduct safety audits, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to team members as necessary.
  • Spend 80% of work time at job site locations.
  • Effectively communicate and manage your team in both office and field environments.
  • Utilize knowledge of all MUTCD and state-specific regulations to ensure compliance of traffic control devices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll, timesheets, and other field documentation.
  • Conduct daily and/or weekly safety and operations meetings with the team and participate in area staff meetings as required.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices by modeling appropriate behaviors and adhering to company policies. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be an approved company driver throughout employment.
  • Work independently and take initiative.
  • Follow management directives with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Exhibit dependability and flexibility in work schedule, including weekends as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of equipment, materials, and supplies used in traffic operations related to heavy/highway construction.
  • 1-3 years of experience managing crews or job sites.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and relevant safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete daily tasks according to schedule.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to interact professionally with supervisors, project managers, coworkers, the public, subordinate employees, other contractors, project owners, and their representatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in traffic control that demonstrates the knowledge and capability to perform the work. Prior experience in traffic control services, utilities, or the construction industry is preferred.
  • Current ATSSA TCS/TCT (Traffic Control Supervisor, Traffic Control Technician) certification is preferred or must be obtained as per position requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required per company policy.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must adhere to safe workplace practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted in a typical office setting but is subject to time constraints and often relies on input from others.
  • Business needs may require fieldwork and after-hours or weekend commitments.
  • Periodic travel may be necessary based on business requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
