Who You Are Galaxy Digital Data Centers is seeking a Head of Data Center Site Development to source and evaluate new large-scale data center developments and lead campus development for sites within the Galaxy portfolio. This role will help ensure strong site selection, inform strategy for campus acquisitions and growth, and ensure sites within the portfolio scale on time and to the full site potential. This position leads the critical real estate work that is at the foundation of supporting mission-critical infrastructure for hyperscale and AI-driven workloads. The ideal candidate will combine real estate development expertise with a strong understanding of utility infrastructure (land, water, fiber, and environmental) to deliver best-in-class sites ready for mission-critical operations. What You’ll Do Identify and evaluate land parcels and campuses suitable for mission-critical AI data centers. Assess development viability, including zoning, environmental, and community impacts. Analyze regional power availability, water resources, and fiber connectivity. Build and maintain relationships with landowners, utilities, municipalities, and regulatory agencies. Lead negotiations for land acquisition, land leases, mineral rights, permitting, zoning, and other elements of data center campus development. Work cross functionally with the team to drive commercial terms and agreements with utility providers, surface estate owners, mineral owners, and external consultants. Collaborate with internal Legal, Growth, and Finance teams to finalize deal structures aligned with corporate strategy. Ensure completion of key campus milestones (e.g., permits) to maintain construction and financing timelines. Partner with Engineering, Operations, Technology, Finance, Power and Construction teams to ensure holistic site selection and delivery. Lead cross-functional workstreams from concept to shovel-ready sites. Oversee the execution of land development and utility enablement for existing data center campuses. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in site selection, real estate development, land acquisition, land development, or large-scale industrial/infrastructure projects. Background in data center development or mission-critical infrastructure required. Proven success negotiating and closing complex land, lease, or infrastructure agreements. Strong collaboration and leadership skills across multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Willingness to travel up to 50% globally to evaluate opportunities, engage stakeholders, and oversee delivery. Familiarity with hybrid real estate structures (wholesale, build-to-suit, joint ventures, and retail colocation). Understanding of water sourcing, reuse, and sustainability considerations for cooling-intensive AI environments. Awareness of permitting, zoning, and environmental impact assessments for large-scale development.
