Villa is currently the largest ADU builder in California and is growing rapidly into other housing products and geographies.Role Overview: We are seeking a highly driven and organized Head of Business Development to serve as a player-coach for all major aspects of Villa’s institutional and scaled development channels. This person will focus on leading the team, executing Villa’s growth strategy, and effectively building relationships with our largest customers. Ideal candidates will put their customer’s success first, and go above and beyond to find the best housing solution to match their needs.What You\'ll DoLeadership: Manage Villa’s B2B sales team consisting of two SDRs, with the opportunity to expand and build the institutional sales organization as Villa’s B2B channels scaleDrive B2B large institutional sales and scaled development for a fee-based consulting serviceBuild and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients across Villa’s B2B channels, including multifamily operators, single-family rental operators, private equity real estate firms, and other strategic institutional clientsAdvise institutional clients on project feasibility and cost, helping inform investment decisions across their portfoliosWork with Villa’s estimating, legal, and preconstruction teams to ensure the validity and accuracy of proposed fee-building projects from project inception to contractMonitor, report, and drive B2B performance metrics and KPIsCollaborate with the VP of Growth to develop quarterly OKRs and strategic initiativesExecutionManage and coordinate project feasibility with estimating, construction, and project managersCoach and mentor SDRs on initial assessment and discovery calls, joining and completing calls as neededManage and lead customer design and budgeting meetings, working closely with Villa’s estimating and site design teamsDrive day-to-day management of the SDR team to reach and educate a broad range of B2B clients across Villa’s institutional channelsOwn the integrity of Salesforce data and manage a disciplined outreach program, monitoring reply rates and conversion metrics to track prospects from initial lead through contractCollaborate with Villa’s product team to design housing solutions tailored to institutional client needs, ensuring products align with fee-building project requirements across Villa’s B2B channelsCoordinate and lead proposal meetings with institutional clients and Villa’s estimating, site design, construction, and project management teamsNavigate client objections and lead negotiations across a wide spectrum of construction agreement terms, including insurance, payment schedules, and overall deal structure, to finalize agreements with institutional clientsPartner with Villa’s Legal team to structure, secure, and finalize agreed-upon contracts and documentationAct as a subject matter expert on our products, services, and process, providing prospects with peace of mind that we operate at a higher standard than any company in the industryAttend project site visits, meetings, industry conferences, and travel as needed to meet clients across the countryWho You Are7-10+ years sales experience, preferably with large enterprise companies, with a proven track record of hitting and exceeding goalsProven sales management experience leading SDRs and AEs, with a strong track record of cross-functional collaboration with business operations, legal, product, and other core teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; experienced in articulating ideas clearly via phone, email, and social mediaExceptional presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence senior executive teams and represent the company at industry conferencesA track record of personal accountability, integrity, and professionalism; resilience in facing new challengesDemonstrates a “find a way” mentality to hit goals and deliver resultsLow-ego team player with a drive to strengthen internal processes and contribute across responsibilitiesA desire to learn, grow, and get in on the ground floor of a company changing housingReceptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvementBackground/fluency in homebuilding, multifamily, and/or commercial real estate and construction sales is a bonusTravel required: approximately 35-50% of the time to meet with institutional clients, partners, and attend industry eventsWe are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
