Job Description:

This Chief Systems Engineer will lead technical concept and architectural design development activities for L3Harris Tactical Communication (TCOM) products, informed by interaction with both internal and external customers. The candidate will provide technical support to Business Development teams and Product Development teams.



Essential Functions:

Partner closely with Business Development teams, Engineering Project teams and Engineering Discipline Team leads to ensure consistent strategy, direction, and alignment with the Segment Strategic Growth Plan (SGP).
Steer technology initiatives beyond their own core technical specialty, relying on team members from other specific disciplines as required.
Work collaboratively across the engineering organization to focus on the Requirements Management, Technical Baseline Creation, Review and Approval, Technical Roadmap Creation and aspects of System Engineering process compliance including, but not limited to, process artifact review and approval, leading solution design reviews, and Risk Management/Analysis.
Partner with Engineering Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts across TCOM Engineering to ensure consistent strategy, direction, and alignment on continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Active US Secret clearance.
Experience with DOORS requirements management software.
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience with system verification.
Experience working within a large multidisciplinary engineering team
Experience assessing and reporting technical project status, risks and issues.
Experience generating estimates for System NRE costs.
