Electrical Systems Engineer

Join Outrider's hardware engineering team as an Electrical Systems Engineer and contribute to the development of safe and reliable autonomous vehicle systems. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing complex electronic systems that enable advanced autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems for autonomous vehicles, including power management, distribution, and sequencing.
  • Evaluate new electronic components and their impact on system integration, performance, and safety.
  • Collaborate with product, software, and manufacturing teams to refine electronic architectures and eliminate design, quality, or assembly issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in design of complex electrical systems with a focus on autonomous vehicle, robotic, or automotive systems.
  • BS or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies, including high-voltage power systems, sensors, control systems, and communication networks.
  • Proficient with hardware layers of communication protocols (TCP, UDP, CAN, I2C, SPI).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Networking and operating systems background.
  • PCB design, assembly, and rework experience, preferably in the automotive, trucking, or similarly challenging environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical automotive topics.
Compensation:

$150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
