Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a vital role in evaluating and testing our products to guarantee compliance with PCI standards and design specifications outlined in the pour sheet. This position is essential for maintaining the quality and safety of our offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts pre-pour assessments, including measurements of components, placement of reinforcements, positioning of tensioning strands, and quality of molds.
  • Performs post-pour evaluations of the cast products.
  • Executes both wet and hardened testing on materials utilized in product manufacturing.
  • Prepares concrete samples for testing, routinely assessing slump, temperature, unit weight, air content, and cylinder strength.
  • Engages in cable tensioning to document elongations and confirm that cables are tensioned according to specifications.
  • Conducts cylinder strength tests to verify they meet the required strength standards.
  • Implements aggregate gradation and sieve analysis.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains comprehensive Quality Control documentation for all inspections and tests conducted.
  • Identifies and logs quality concerns, collaborating with Production to address these issues.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity, earning the trust of colleagues.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED; must be able to obtain ACI Concrete Field Testing-Grade I certification.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to solve problems swiftly and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Knowledge of necessary safety protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to complete projects efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and driven to accomplish tasks.
  • Willingness to adapt to changes aimed at achieving best-in-class standards.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret tape measures and blueprints.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl, and use hands/forearms repetitively.
  • Ability to remain mobile for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts at various heights regularly.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk associated with safety precautions.
  • Exposure to a production environment with varying conditions.
  • Working in wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round.
