Job Summary
The Laboratory Supervisor will oversee lab operations including personnel, scheduling, technical, and workflow functions. Act as the liaison between laboratory, patients, and other staff.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the laboratory to ensure appropriate staffing and testing capabilities are available
Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzers and/or manual methods on specimen sources such as blood, urine, and other body fluids
Oversee the checking and transfer of data as necessary and take steps to correct possibly inaccurate data prior to continued processing or release
Oversee the monitoring of inventory/ordering by establishing and maintaining par levels and restocking points for general laboratory supplies and reagents
Oversee the orientation/training of staff to their responsibilities and the function of the laboratory
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution
Certified as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT
Two to three years of experience in a moderate to high complexity laboratory setting. Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory capacity
Salary for this role ranges from $38-$42/hour depending on experience
