About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Shift Supervisor to join our Anatomic Pathology team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Advanced Diagnostics section of Anatomic Pathology, including Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Electron Microscopy, Immunofluorescence, and Cutaneous Immunofluorescence.
  • Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, including biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological tests.
  • Supervise direct reports and manage employee performance, providing ongoing performance feedback and evaluations.
  • Orient and train employees, verify competency, and identify ways to develop skills through teaching and continuing education opportunities.
  • May serve as key operator for implementation of new equipment and procedures.
  • Independently research and assist in development of new procedures, compile and evaluate data, and perform statistical analyses.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in Immunohistochemistry
  • ASCP certified as either a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT)
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science
  • Certified by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), MT (HHS or HEW), MT (AAB), generalist or categorical if applicable
  • Three (3) years medical technology experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Physical Requirements
