Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide outstanding world-class coordination and servicing of convention and group business. Oversees and services convention/catering business from the time of assignment through meeting dates until final payment of account. Ensure that all activities and services including F&B are performed to plan specifications and Silver Reef's standards, ensuring guest satisfaction repeat business. Contributes to increase Hotel/Catering Revenues by selling above contracted F&B minimums and ancillary income sources.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Include equipment knowledge/use)
  • Must have prior event and catering experience
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to meet the demands of client's events to include presence at numerous functions taking place throughout the day
  • Excels in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Thorough knowledge of Hotel and F&B
  • College degree preferred

Class III

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • The Business Development Manager will be an active part of the community by being involved and networking with organizations, associations and government affairs, building and maintain professional rapport with gaming clientele throughout Western Washington and Vancouver British Columbia.
  • Generates group sales business and meets budgetary goals through all appropriate sales channels. Identifies market potential and initiates the sales Creates proposals, presents information, completes follow-up, closes sales, completes necessary contracts and monitors competition.
  • Develops and records prospects and accounts by creating tracing system for callbacks, release dates, future meetings, etc. Tracks all contact data in database.
  • Maintains relationships and a cadence of communication with all accounts to maintain top of mind
  • Promotes new and repeat business, property awareness, and partnerships in group business opportunities on behalf of Silver Reef Casino Resort.
  • This individual is self-motivated, solicitation of accounts through direct sales calls, direct mail, telephone, email and site inspections.
  • Makes sales trips to assigned territory and participates in trade shows generating group
  • Comfortable interfacing and working with high-level professionals including executives and public servants
  • Able to proactively identify opportunities for improvements and problem solve them without directive from superiors
  • Monitor competition and marketing trends, understanding changes in the hospitality
  • Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and standards of performance are Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.
  • Oversee sales staff for the follow through of contract preparation and execution
  • Prepare group resumes containing detail of all reservations, billing and BEO
