POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

SCHEDULE:

JOB SUMMARY:

The ECMO Specialist provides high-quality Respiratory Care in accordance with departmental policies for various patient demographics, including Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. This role involves performing approved procedures and monitoring equipment to ensure positive patient outcomes.

The Advanced Level Practitioner will educate patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Additionally, this position includes assisting with the clinical training and skill development of Respiratory Care students, while evaluating and implementing procedures based on current trends in cardio-respiratory technology and Extra Corporeal Life Support.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of critical care experience is essential.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Care Professional in North Carolina.
  • Current certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Maintain ECMO Specialist endorsement on the NC Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Certification for specific areas of practice.
  • Certification by Wake Forest Baptist Health as an Extra Corporeal Life Support Specialist.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior ECMO experience is not required, as training will be provided.
  • Previous experience in CVICU is preferred.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
PAY: $39.91 per hour
