About the role Master Center is seeking a business‑minded, mission‑driven Director of Outreach and Business Development to lead our outreach and partnership strategy, drive census growth, and strengthen our connections with referral partners across the healthcare community. This leader combines a strategic sales mindset with deep empathy for patient care, someone who can build relationships that expand access while inspiring a team to deliver results. The Director sits on the Leadership Team and plays a key role in shaping organizational strategy, ensuring alignment between outreach, marketing, intake, finance, and clinical operations to achieve Master Center’s growth and access goals. Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth & Partnership Development Drive census growth and new patient acquisition through a coordinated outreach and partnership strategy that increases qualified referrals and expands access to care.Develop and manage a robust referral network across healthcare systems, payors, employers, and community organizations to ensure a consistent, qualified pipeline of patients entering treatment.Build and strengthen relationships with healthcare systems, behavioral health providers, recovery organizations, employers, payors, probation and parole, and other community partners.Represent Master Center in high‑level meetings and deliver 1:1 and group presentations that clearly communicate our value to partners — translating clinical excellence and patient outcomes into meaningful business and community impact.Identify and pursue new opportunities for collaboration and network participation that expand access to care.Collaborate closely with marketing, intake, and clinical leadership to align messaging, campaigns, and referral follow‑up processes.Play a key role in evaluating and recommending new location expansion areas, including building referral networks to meet patient goals for those markets.Identify and prioritize high‑value community and professional events to attend or support, maximizing Master Center’s visibility and impact.Support the development, negotiation, and execution of partnership agreements, service contracts, or grant applications that expand access to care and strengthen community collaboration.Lead, coach, and develop the outreach team responsible for referral generation and partner engagement throughout Master Center’s service areas.Recruit, onboard, and retain strong team members who embody Master Center’s mission and values.Set clear expectations and communicate performance goals that connect daily activities to organizational outcomes.Provide regular 1:1 coaching and team meetings focused on skill development, relationship management, and professional growth.Foster collaboration, transparency, and accountability — creating a culture where the team feels supported, connected, and inspired. Organizational Collaboration & Leadership Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team, contributing to organizational planning, strategy, and performance discussions.Partner with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns, outreach tools, and educational content that drive referral growth and brand awareness.Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and evaluation of return on investment for outreach and partnership activities.Work closely with Intake and Clinical Operations to ensure smooth coordination of referred patients and an excellent experience for partners and patients alike.Communicate market trends, referral data, and strategic insights across departments to support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.Use Salesforce and other tools to monitor team activities and identify growth opportunities.Track progress against goals and provide regular updates to the leadership team on referral trends and market insights.Use data to inform strategy and continuous improvement. Community & Thought Leadership Act as a visible ambassador for Master Center at conferences, events, and community forums.Contribute to marketing and education initiatives that elevate understanding of substance use disorder and reduce stigma around treatment and recovery. What we’re looking for You have a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus).You bring 5+ years of experience leading sales, business development, or outreach teams in healthcare or related service industries.You have a proven record of building and managing a team to achieve measurable growth outcomes.You communicate with confidence and can present effectively to healthcare executives, payors, and community leaders.You are a relationship builder with strong emotional intelligence and professional presence.You are proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM systems for tracking and reporting.You have a passion for mission‑driven work and alignment with Master Center’s commitment to compassionate, evidence‑based treatment.You have experience supporting grant applications or partnership agreements (This is a plus).
