This role is responsible for winning new work, executing successful strategies to secure and maintain clients, and meeting established procurement and revenue goals for their region.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Create new client and market opportunitiesSeek and identify business opportunities for the firm; could be market specific depending on firm sizeParticipate in client and community organizations and events to promote ManhattanAssist Regional Leaders with Business PlanningDevelop strategic plans for Business DevelopmentFilter client and project opportunities to align with Manhattan's goals and cultureStay current with market trends and adjust strategies as necessaryParticipate in development and execution of the Approval to Pursue and Project Pursuit PlansEnsure that clients are receiving “best in class” service and information from ManhattanBuild relationships with clients, teaming partners, and community influencers inside and outside the firmTrack business development opportunitiesResearch and gather information on potential clients and projectsSchedule and meet with new/existing clients to discover pursuit information and detailsEstablish and develop pursuit planning documentsIn partnership with marketing, develop qualification, proposal, and presentation messaging and contentParticipate in red team and mock panel reviews (as applicable)Lead quality control efforts for business development processesDevelop and maintain a strong professional networkParticipate in client organizationsWork with technical staff to develop proposals and scopes of work and estimate feesAssist or lead doer-seller training and mentoring activitiesCreate positive media exposure for ManhattanResponsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We WorkOther duties as assignedJOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExpert knowledge of the construction industryExperience with Business and Strategic PlanningExcellent Planning, Presentation and Organizational SkillsAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all timesExcellent strategic thinking and visionary skillsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis15 years of industry experienceExisting relationships with designers/owners in Higher Education, Healthcare, and or Mission Critical would be preferred.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.Ability to repeat the same movements.Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control.Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).About ManhattanFounded in 1896, Manhattan is a top-ranked national construction services firm that provides preconstruction, construction management, program management, general building, and design-build services.
