About the Role

As a Controls System Technician, you will have the opportunity to support the maintenance manufacturing departments by supplying critical support in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance during equipment breakdown activities. The controls technician will work across the organization to foster continuous improvement for long-term success.

What You Will Do

  • Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production line and ensures equipment and machinery compliance with production and process specifications.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures.
  • Maintain maintenance log, work orders and any other paperwork as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Manage, cross-train, and evaluate other maintenance staff as needed
  • Communicate the status of current projects or tasks with estimated completion times at maintenance meetings.
  • Communicates and interacts with all areas to resolve issues and to improve KPIs.
  • Aid with building/facilities repairs and maintenance duties as needed
  • Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.

What You Need

  • Prefer 5 years of industrial maintenance experience OR 3 years of experience and a two-year technical degree, industrial maintenance certification (or equivalent).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics or related program highly preferred.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's): Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and modify/create programs is required. (creating, editing and troubleshooting) Experience with Omron and Siemens PLC's is highly preferred.
  • Robotics: Ability to troubleshoot, teach paths and mechanical understanding
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic: Ability to read schematics, understand fluid power concepts
  • Electrical Maintenance: ability to read schematics, understand/troubleshoot motor control circuits, from low voltage to 480V, 3-phase.
  • Safety: Work in a safe manner at all times being aware of potential hazards in the area and safeguarding those hazards
