As our next Control Systems Specialist, you will report to the Site Engineering Manager and provide on-site assistance for all automation control activities and projects. Additionally, you will support project engineering and management for significant automation capital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support all programming languages and develop code for machinery and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues related to automation and control systems across all departments, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) as necessary.
- Recommend, specify, design, and implement modifications to enhance system efficiency and functionality.
- Provide off-site support outside of regular hours, alternating weekly responsibilities with other team members.
- Guide the Controls Engineer and Technician in their daily tasks.
- Manage selected capital projects, evaluating needs, assessing options, defining costs, preparing credit requests, and developing project plans.
- Implement projects aimed at improving costs, efficiencies, yields, and quality.
- Oversee contractor relationships, including estimates, contract negotiations, and on-site supervision during projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical or liquid manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power and industrial instrumentation/controls.
- Technical expertise in PLCs and industrial process controls (DCS).
- Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, Devicenet, Controlnet, and Modbus networking.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in liquid processes, blending, spray drying, chemical manufacturing, and reactor operations.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and Rockwell Software.
- Experience in managing capital projects.
