Position Summary

The Employee Health Nurse at Empower Pharmacy plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our workforce, directly supporting our values of people, service, quality, and innovation. This position is essential for developing and implementing comprehensive occupational health programs across North America, ensuring that all employees are provided with a safe and healthy work environment. Your expertise in health management and preventative care will be vital in fostering a culture of wellness that empowers our team to perform at their best.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a range of employee health initiatives, including Tuberculosis testing, fit testing for safety equipment, and overseeing the employee drug screening program. You will also develop and implement wellness programs aimed at preventing illness and promoting health, including the administration of site-specific wellness centers that offer services like IV drip therapy and infrared lighting. Your role in managing workers' compensation cases, coordinating return-to-work plans, and maintaining accurate health records will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while providing essential care to our employees.

Collaboration and proactive health management are key aspects of this position. You will work closely with management to identify workplace health risks, implement preventative measures, and provide health education to encourage healthy lifestyles among employees. Your ability to respond quickly to workplace injuries and illnesses, offering immediate care and referrals, will contribute to a safe and productive work environment. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops process and enterprise-wide standard creation for occupational health related matters across North America for all employees.
  • Conducts and manages Tuberculosis testing for employees to ensure workplace safety.
  • Performs fit testing to ensure employees are properly equipped with safety gear.
  • Oversees Employee drug screening program.
  • Develops, implements, and manages wellness programs aimed at promoting health and preventing illness among staff.
  • Oversees and administers site-specific wellness centers, including IV drip therapy, infrared lighting employee program.
  • Manages workers' compensation cases, providing medical care and coordinating return-to-work plans.
  • Maintains accurate health records and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provides health education and resources to employees to encourage healthy lifestyles.
  • Collaborates with management to identify workplace health risks and implement preventative measures.
  • Responds to workplace injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care and necessary referrals.
  • Supports the overall health and wellness strategy of Empower Pharmacy, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health, employee wellness, or a related field required.
  • Experience building the occupational health function for an organization of over 500 employees strongly preferred.
  • Certification in occupational health nursing (COHN) preferred.
  • Current Texas Registered Nurse license required.
  • COHN-S preferred.
