Position Summary

Develops regulatory strategies, advocates for the Company's business needs and serves as the primary point-of-contact with the California Public Utilities Commission leadership and staff. Provides regulatory advice and counsel for the assigned business units and develops and maintains policies and programs to ensure executive leadership awareness of, and effective response to, potential regulatory issues and policies that affect the Company. Ensures that the Company's interests are represented in regulatory proceedings and in the development of new regulatory policies and requirements.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides advocacy for Company’s position on industry issues, developments or in pending proceedings for complex and high-impact issues pending at the CPUC.
  • Works with leadership in Regulatory Affairs and throughout Company to prioritize, develop and execute overall strategy and policies for complex and high-impact regulatory issues prior to, and during, proceedings.
  •  Utilizes comprehensive understanding of regulatory environment and Company business issues to shape regulatory policies and lead the development of regulatory strategy in proceedings with significant impacts.
  • Informs Company executive leadership team of regulatory developments including meeting outcomes, proposed regulations, and timing of key regulatory decisions.
  • Ensures issue resolution through partnering with appropriate leaders/stakeholders.
  • Fosters and sustains effective communications and working relationships with internal company contacts, CPUC staff/leaders and other executive external contacts/stakeholders including industry representatives, consumer organizations, utilities and environmental groups.
  • May have 1 or 2 direct reports.
  • Leads and influences staff to drive performance and accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management/coaching and rewards and recognition.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $174,000

Bay Area Maximum: $296,000

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 10 years
