If you want to start a career in the A&D sector, send us your resume today Position Summary The Assembly Technician is tasked with fabricating components and assemblies of moderate to high complexity. With guidance from Engineering and Production Management, the Assembly Technician will maintain a stock of raw materials and components, put together sub-assemblies (by hand, using hand tools and the hot press), and perform high-level inspection throughout the fabrication process. Fabrication requires delicate craftsmanship and some heavy lifting of tools/molds. Attention to detail (visual) and time management are key to your success at UPC. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in manufacturing and some experience working with HAZMAT. Skills and Responsibilities Good hand-eye coordination Good data-collection Ability to work with two-component chemical systems Mastery of shop tools Ability to handle delicate parts and assemblies Ability to manage time-sensitive processes Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to maintain rigorous delivery schedules Working with uncured rubber compounds and organic thin-film adhesives Operation of hot press, curing oven, or similar equipment Basic understanding of temperature recorders and controllers Physical Requirements Walking, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, etc. is required. Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds Work safely under functional guidelines such as PPE and equipment operation.
