Department Overview

 

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

 

Position Summary

 

Manages programs as assigned with power generation operations and maintenance. Responsible for implementation, ongoing development, and improvement of existing or new programs.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Minimum Base Salary (California)           $ 116,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)          $ 184,000.00

  • Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues.
  • May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.
  • Works with Directors, Managers, and Supervisors across functions to effectively manage and implement programs.
  • Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.
  • Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making. 
  • Develops and provides guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance, and considerations.
  • Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions.
  • Manages and provides direction on overall program direction.
  • Performs in-depth quality assurance reviews and provides and implements recommendations for improvement.  
  • Develops new or revises existing compliance standards, guidance documents or best practices to support O&M.
  • Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business.
  • 8 years of related experience or equivalent

 

Desired:

 

  • Power Generation operations and maintenance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Program Management.
  • Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights, and recommendations.
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Primarily office environment with extensive use of personal computers, telephone conversations, conference calls and in person meetings.
