Department Overview

PG&E's Power Generation Department oversees and operates the largest privately-owned hydroelectric system in the United States. This renewable energy infrastructure, primarily situated in elevated regions of California, encompasses numerous facilities including powerhouses, canals, flumes, tunnels, penstocks, reservoirs, and vast watershed lands, all regulated under multiple operating licenses.

Position Summary

Flexible headquarters throughout the PG&E Power Generation service area.

Hybrid Work Model: 25%-30% fieldwork, 25%-30% office work, 40%-50% remote (must reside in California).

PG&E is committed to providing a competitive salary range for this position based on the locality. The actual compensation will depend on various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions. The estimated salary range for this role is:

Bay Area: $122,000 - $194,000

California: $116,000 - $184,000

  • Collaborate with Asset Management to establish a Hydro Asset Inspection Coordination Program.
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams to create comprehensive asset inspection programs.
  • Manage and coordinate asset inspection protocols and requirements.
  • Draft contract specifications for hydro asset inspections.
  • Oversee contracts for asset inspection services.
  • Design and implement training for contract inspectors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that inspection contractors provide thorough and high-quality reports.
  • Coordinate inspection plans with area leadership and management teams.
  • Ensure that inspection findings requiring corrective actions are documented appropriately.
  • Facilitate communication with the Maintenance Planning department regarding program notifications.
  • Oversee program implementation and operations, ensuring effective performance against program objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and provide necessary guidance.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Measure and report on program success and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners.
  • Work with Regulatory and Compliance teams to meet all regulatory obligations.
  • Identify stakeholders and maintain communication within PG&E.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as needed.
  • Explore new partnerships, technologies, and delivery methods.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business.
  • 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.

  • PMP Certification or proven project management experience.

  • Strong contract management skills.
  • Familiarity with claims management processes.
  • Experience with SAP PM or similar systems.
