Job Summary:

We are currently hiring an Associate Director in Systems Security Engineering (SSE) in the Systems Security Engineering Department of the Mission Systems organization. The Associate Director is responsible for the leadership and well-being of the Cyber engineering organization within the Special Access Programs (SAP), as well as creating and executing the roadmap to position their team to output world-class products for years to come. Cyber Engineering Associate Directors operate across all domains of the engineering organization. A primary goal for this role is to provide Engineering Fellow level support to multiple classified programs. Day-to-day tasks will vary but the common thread is providing support and solutions to current and predicted future issues which engineers on their assigned product line, domain or program will face.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Perform SSE Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) role across numerous programs to ensure cyber architectures satisfy all requirements and stakeholders.

  • Manage and lead efforts to develop new products/components that will result in new business opportunities for the company.

  • Lead and teach ATO activities using RMF to include Vulnerability and Compliance Management and CDRL documentation creation and updates. 

  • Lead the development of requirements and the implementation of the design of advanced new products.

  • Ability to shape the strategic direction of the business and make sound business decisions.

  • Personally, models and fosters a culture of ethical behavior.

  • Designs, researches, and develops highly advanced new applications resulting in new product / business opportunities for the company.

  • Guides, teaches, and mentors to encourage and accelerate talent growth.

  • Acts independently and pro-actively seeks to uncover and resolve issues.

  • Ability to develop relationships with Customers and Raytheon stakeholders.

  • Consistently assess cyber risk and opportunities to the development effort and implement effective mitigation plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering and or Mathematics (STEM) and 12 years prior relevant experience

  • An active and transferable DoD TS/SCI clearance with an active Poly and SAP access to multiple programs is required on Day 1 of employment; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System: (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management

  • Experience leading multiple cyber teams using current tools and following current practices

  • Experience driving a culture of high performance and ensure performance concerns are identified and addressed in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading and providing mentoring, coaching and guidance to engineering managers in all areas of cyber engineering

  • Experience with the proposal process and leading a cyber team to support all cyber related tasking

  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and departments – identifying any hurdles to progress and improving internal and cross-functional communications and processes

  • Able to motivate, inspire and drive engineering teams to strive for a culture of excellence and pride of ownership

  • Experience in working with Product Management to map product roadmaps to engineering schedules

  • Experience with summarizing and presenting key information, and proven ability to influence and drive decisions at the executive level. 

  • Proven ability to drive the engineering teams to be accountable for on-time delivery of quality features and products

  • Strong customer service mindset and great attention to detail

  • Broad understanding of cyber engineering and how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices 

  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse cyber technologies and techniques

  • Able to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences

  • Strong understanding of the direction of cyber technological innovation and ability to bring that expertise to the company

  • Owns the execution of long-term strategy and engineering direction

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
