Cybersecurity Engineer (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Cybersecurity Engineer to join an integrated laboratory system servicing hospitals, physicians, and managed care organization. The Cybersecurity Engineer will have broad Palo Alto experience and apply professional experience and judgment to guide planning and action, using their expertise to refine goals, plans, and actions. This role involves a holistic, systems approach to solutioning and problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on researching, synthesizing, and analyzing cyber-related tactics, techniques, and procedures.


Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid working 2 days onsite per week).

This job expects to pay about $80 - 90 per hour plus benefits.


What You Will Do:

  • Apply professional experience and judgment to guide planning and action.
  • Use expertise to refine goals, plans, and actions.
  • Employ a holistic, systems approach to solutioning and problem-solving.
  • Research, synthesize, and analyze cyber-related tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Guide procedural changes and actively engage in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Create documentation and update appropriate Knowledge Bases.
  • Participate in incident response and remediation.
  • Engage in on-call rotations to ensure continuous support.
  • Participate in and lead small projects.
  • Conduct threat analysis and ensure DC/Cloud interoperability (hybrid environments).


What Gets You The Job:

  • 3-6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on incident response and remediation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field.
  • Experience with Palo Alto (Panorama) or Checkpoint is required.
  • Experience in project participation and leading small projects.
  • Ability to perform threat analysis and ensure DC/Cloud interoperability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications are a plus including CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Microsoft Azure Security Technologies AZ-500, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA), or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)
