Title: Human Resources Assistant II

Reports to: HR Executive Director

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant II provides administrative support to human resources functions, including, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and employee records. The role requires an ability to handle sensitive information and time management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Compiles statistics for various HR management reports, assist with pre-employment screening, interviews scheduling, reference checks and respond to routine questions on HR policy.
  • Assists with hard copy filing and e-filing of personnel records
  • Maintains the HR department calendar
  • Assists with internal investigations/grievances as needed.
  • Assists with on-boarding of New Hires by verifying educational credentials and/or Immigration documents.
  • Prepares meeting agendas, staff communications and coordinate scheduling for Department meetings.
  • Maintains the inventory and order monthly supplies for the department
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is primarily sedentary
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
