Field Supervisor

Job Description

Position Title: Field Supervisor

Reports to: Plumbing Department Manager

Pay Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay Type: Hourly

Summary

Assists plumbers with unusual or difficult assignments, trains and coaches Journeyman plumbers, ensures that safety rules and practices are followed, and conducts quality-control checks on completed work. As needed due to staffing and customer needs, performs service, maintenance, and installation work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements and Qualifications

•Manage project mechanics and hold regular meetings to ensure efficient field operations.

•Schedule manpower, including future needs, and maintain a 3-week look ahead.

•Enforce discipline and control among field personnel to optimize production efficiency.

•Create materials lists for the project.

•Coordinate work with other trades on the project.

•Perform quality control measures and testing to ensure proper installation and functioning of systems.

•Enforce jobsite safety requirements for all team members.

•Monitor project schedule to meet completion deadlines.

•Notify the project manager of any additional work that arises during the project and assist in estimating the associated costs.

•Attend progress meetings as required.

•Maintain project paperwork, such as daily reports.

•Manage and mentor team members to maintain a neat and organized workplace.

•Prepare and supervise the project punch list to facilitate timely completion.

•Ensure projects are completed to satisfaction through a final walk-thru with the client.

•Attend and participate in monthly forecast meetings.

•Enter daily time records for all personnel on the project.

•Track quantities installed each day.

Requirements and Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

•Valid driver's license

•Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project foreman.

•Must have 1 to 3 years of related experience or additional specialized training and/or certification.

•Strong knowledge of blueprints and project specifications.

•Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks.

•Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

•Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.

•Manual dexterity

•Must be insurable.
