Position Title: Field Operations Supervisor

Reports to: Plumbing Department Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Compensation Type: Hourly

Summary

The Field Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding plumbing teams through complex tasks, providing mentorship to Journeyman plumbers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and performing quality assurance checks on completed projects. This position may also involve hands-on service, maintenance, and installation duties as required by operational demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee project mechanics and conduct regular team meetings to promote effective field operations.
  • Plan workforce allocation, including future staffing needs, and maintain a three-week project outlook.
  • Implement discipline and control measures among field staff to enhance productivity.
  • Develop materials lists necessary for project execution.
  • Coordinate activities with other trades involved in the project.
  • Execute quality control assessments and testing to guarantee proper installation and functionality of plumbing systems.
  • Enforce safety regulations on-site for all team members.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Inform the project manager of any additional work that arises and assist in estimating related costs.
  • Participate in progress meetings as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports.
  • Guide and mentor team members to uphold a clean and organized work environment.
  • Prepare and oversee the project punch list to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct final walkthroughs with clients to confirm project satisfaction.
  • Engage in monthly forecasting meetings.
  • Record daily time for all project personnel.
  • Track daily quantities of installed materials.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or additional specialized training and/or certification.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints and project specifications.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work after hours, on weekends, and during public holidays with little notice.
  • Manual dexterity is required.
  • Must be insurable.
