We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our dynamic team at our manufacturing plant. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement HR policies and procedures, drive succession planning, and ensure our staffing needs are met with high-quality candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on key performance indicators (KPIs), employee development, and accountability to support our mission of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement HR Policies and Procedures: Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and align with company goals.
- Succession Planning: Identify key roles and develop a robust succession plan to ensure a strong leadership pipeline within the manufacturing plant. Work closely with department heads to identify and mentor high-potential employees.
- KPI Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for HR-related activities, including recruitment, retention, training, and development. Use data-driven insights to improve HR strategies and operations.
- Skill Development and Training: Assess skill gaps within the workforce and develop targeted training programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities, particularly in technical and safety areas.
- Staffing and Recruitment: Manage the full recruitment cycle to attract and retain top talent, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires. Work with supervisors to determine staffing needs and develop effective hiring strategies.
- Performance Management: Design and implement performance management systems that set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and hold employees accountable for their performance. Support managers in conducting performance appraisals and developing performance improvement plans as needed.
- Employee Relations and Accountability: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns promptly and fairly. Promote a culture of accountability, ensuring employees adhere to company policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and succession plans.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, safety regulations, and HR compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
- Experience with union environments and collective bargaining.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
