Description The Technical Service Specialist's role is to field requests from customers for their parts needs and helps fulfill those sales. For this position, mechanical knowledge is helpful. The ideal candidate would also have knowledge of waste equipment and heavy-duty truck systems as well as comfort with computer-based inventory and order management systems. This individual will be an extension of the FSR( Field Service Rep.) and will provide support as a product expert and help advise customers of products. Technical Service Specialists can exercise judgment in pricing and discounts for larger part orders while maintaining gross profit margins. Base Salary of $66,560.80 plus commissions Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain existing customer base through customer service and product support Thorough understanding of parts and/or understanding of chassis, hose and fittings, maintenance and repair Must have a desire and ability to learn a broad range of Wastebuilt products as well as other supplier product lines Strong bias toward providing customers with the highest level of service possible Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment, with effective interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Effective problem-solving, business decision-making, pattern recognition, and memory skills Ability to be polite and engaging when dealing with internal/external customers coupled with the ability to defuse tense situations Understanding the functions of heavy-duty truck systems (familiarity with refuse handling equipment is a plus) Comfort with Microsoft Office software suite – especially Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and ability / willingness to learn Inventory, cataloging, and order management systems Qualifications Knowledge of waste equipment or a field that is directly or indirectly related to the industry Minimum three (3-5) years previous office environment experience with a customer service focus in an industrial setting Minimum High School Diploma. Some college or college degree preferred Proficient in MS Office products, namely Outlook, Excel, and Word. Key behaviors for the role: Teamwork- Promote honesty, reliability, strong communication and positive attitude. Works well with management and knows when to ask questions or ask for help. Integrity- Will always do the right thing in all circumstances. Must be trustworthy, dependable, open and honest in dealings with others, setting realistic expectations and creating strong interpersonal relationships. Customer Orientation- Must be an active listener, that is always positive and respectful. Must be responsive to customer needs, and internal staff needs. Work Management- Ideal candidate can use time efficiently and effectively, and able to create work plans. Will also be able to work independently in the field, but able to network and stay in contact with prospective customers. Job knowledge- Meets or exceeds daily task and finished them in a timely matter. Ability to Multitask-Able to work in environment that’s ever changing. Must be able to stay organized and prioritize needs for self and for the customer. Must be able to do good follow ups as well. Results Oriented- Must be able to be goal oriented, with self-sense of accomplishment. Able to take the small wins and take that momentum on hectic days.
