AZ HR Hub is looking for a Phoenix based HR Consultant with at least 3+ years of experience. In this role, you will be the HR point of contact for one of prestigious clients headquartered in Scottsdale. Our ideal Consultant will have an academic HR background combined with work experience as an HR Generalist or Consultant in the restaurant / food industry required.


This is a remote/hybrid position but may require occasional onsite visits with the client. Must currently reside in metro Phoenix, AZ USA.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Advise client on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for human resource activities.
  • Handle the day to day HR task and strategy work for client.
  • Develop, revise and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion, particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer, track, and execute client human resource programs such as compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from client applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attend and participates in client employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Assist with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports, including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.


Account Management Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the lead point of contact for assigned client account(s).
  • Build and maintains strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key account(s), customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Occasional onsite client work.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs and objectives.
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions, presentations, documents, forms, and publications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Knowledgeable of laws and regulations pertaining to employee relations and workplace compliance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional-level experience in human resources.
  • HR experience in the restaurant / food service industry required.
  • Current SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.


Other Requirements:

  • Currently reside in metropolitan Phoenix, AZ (USA)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client site.
  • Ability to pass a background check.


Working Conditions:

  • Home-based: work is primarily performed remotely but will require occasional onsite duties and/or travel. (90% Remote/10% Client Site).
  • Monday-Friday, daytime schedule.
