Description

Balance Autism is looking for a Children Services Program Coordinator to add to our team This leader coordinates program activities of Balance Autism to provide specialized human services such as children's community programs, and would be responsible for the community programming at our Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo clinics. This leader coordinates, trains, and evaluates the employee running the programing for persons served in Balance Autism Children's Services program. Responsibilities are performed personally and implemented alongside the leadership to direct care staff to ensure appropriate programing for persons served.

TOP 5 DUTIES
1. Ensure that the health and safety needs of the person(s) served are met
2. Focus every day on supporting people with autism as they gain higher levels of independence, including skills related to: hygiene, personal care, building social relationships and networks, communication, and community involvement as needed
3. Serve as a contact for family/guardians and outside agency communications, providing follow up to concerns in a timely manner and keeping ongoing record of all such contacts.
4. Leads in developing, and monitoring personalized programs, autism specific strategies and innovative solutions in order to generate successful outcomes for individuals on caseload
5. Obtains information for reports to ensure proper management of areas of responsibility

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate professionally with legal representatives, families and allied professionals.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with individual(s) served and co-workers to promote successful outcomes.
  • Attend and successfully complete all training sessions to generate constant learning and continuous improvements.
  • Review incident reports and send copy to required individuals.
  • Assist in hiring, and assigning staff.
  • Welcome, mentor, and train staff according to Balance Autism policies
  • Hold Annual ITP meetings and prepare a written report in a timely manner. Conduct, review and evaluate assessments and recommendations.
  • Coordinate services as identified by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Update goals and objectives, retraining staff as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist in creating goal and objective materials needed for each person served.
  • Responsible for ensuring files are compliant with payer and credentialing guidelines and regulations.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and consents from family or legal guardian and keep them updated as needed.
  • Assist in Quality Interaction and Fidelity checks with staff in a timely manner.
  • Assist with billing for all services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field with direct care experience or equivalent combination of related experience with an associates degree or internship in Human Services.

Valid Driver's License and Auto insurance, this position requires travel to Clinic locations in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo, Iowa.

Must pass pre-employment motor vehicle report and criminal background checks
