WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Senior Manager, Educational Activities, you will:

  • Manage educational content including needs assessment, content development, and ACPE guidelines.
  • Identify, recruit and work with SMEs to develop content for APhA meetings and supported programs.
  • Apply best practices of instructional design and adult learning theory to the strategy, design and delivery of educational content, and recommend optimal learning modality
  • Manage all aspects of speaker communication and documentation including online speaker agreements, registration, travel arrangements, reimbursement.
  • Manage the contributed papers program including marketing, review process, onsite presentation, and abstract publication.
  • Manage the education logistics prior to meetings and onsite, including: site visits, room scheduling, audio visual needs, food and beverage, and room set-up requirements.
  • Precepting – Fellows and APPE Pharmacy Students

LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
APhA may be the right fit for you if you are:

Experience and Education required:

  • PharmD degree is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or 1+ year of a Residency/Fellowship and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Direct experience in developing and implementing training programs is required; association education planning experience is preferred.

Skills, knowledge and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of ACPE/ACCME Standards and adult learning principles.?
  • Knowledge of educational technologies, learning management systems, and distance/online learning.?
  • Knowledge of pharmacy education activity development process
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple work tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail; good proofreading skills
  • Microsoft Word/Excel/Access proficiency
  • Database experience
  • Must be able to travel to live education meetings.
  • Experience with on-site meetings management
  • Office management skills, including ability to organize material and files to handle routine details, such as filing and arranging meetings
  • Familiarity with budget and accounting processes a plus
