JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is immediately supervised by the Human Resources Administrator.

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely end-to-end semi-monthly payroll processing for all employees, including salary calculations, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
  • Manage payroll team members, including training, reviewing, and assigning of workloads and assuring quality control for processes, conducting performance reviews for direct reports, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes and payroll systems for efficiency and accuracy. Recommend and implement best practices to streamline payroll operations.
  • Manages regulatory requirements associated with payroll, including timely and accurate distribution of W-2s on an annual basis. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, tax withholding, benefits, and other relevant data.
  • Ensure benefit invoices are reconciled and processed timely on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Finance for General Ledger postings and month-end closure activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries promptly.
  • Understands and promotes our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) concept by providing or supporting community-based mental and substance use disorder services; advancing integration of behavioral health with physical health care; assimilating and utilizing evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis; and promoting improved access to high quality care.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
  • Employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Participates in required staff meetings.
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
  • Quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill or special purpose. Must be competent and adequate. Must meet "satisfactory" expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation.

Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations.

In addition, must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with clients, staff, management, and other professional groups; in exercising mature judgement in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively; both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

DEFINITION:

Position requires the ability to lead a team, prioritize, strong communication skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, vendors and potential employees. This position is immediately supervised by the Human Resources Administrator.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years' experience as a Payroll Supervisor and bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy.
