Job Description:
- Compiles health information such as reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness
- Types health information forms and prepares charts for new admissions
- Compiles and types statistical reports on daily and monthly census
- Files reports into health information records and retrieves records as needed
- Provides information from health records in compliance with confidentiality regulations
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of typewriters, word processors, and calculators
- Writes routine business letters and proofreads medical reports for accuracy
- Recognizes errors in medical records and ensures completeness of information
- Collaborates with other departments on health information records procedures
- Requires knowledge of health information technology, medical terminology, and record-keeping regulations
