Michigan State Athletic Communications: Staff Assistant

OVERVIEW: The staff assistant will assist in all operations of the Office of Athletic Communications and will be directly responsible for working with multiple sports, in addition to assisting with football, men's and women's basketball, and ice hockey. The individual will also assist with game day duties at athletic events and aid in creating content and help furthering develop the initiatives in social media and multimedia on the department's official website, msuspartans.com. Other duties as assigned by Associate Athletics Director/Communications.
START DATE: The selected candidate would begin in early to mid-August.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years experience as a sports information/athletic communications student assistant or intern (undergraduate or graduate); excellent writing and editing skills; computer knowledge (statistical programs, desktop publishing); must be able to manage multiple tasks. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information regarding student-athletes, university staff, and the Athletic Department. The MSU Athletic Communications office uses Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, NCAA Live Stats and Stat Crew Software; previous experience with these programs is preferred.
