UH Truman Medical Center is located in the Health Sciences District of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. UH 1 is UH's beautiful specialty outpatient clinics and day-surgery center and UH 2 is the location for all of our primary care and women's care clinics.
UH Lakewood Medical Center is located between Kansas City and Lee's Summit, Missouri, offering residents of Eastern Jackson County access to a modern community hospital with a continuum of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of families. UH Lakewood specializes in high-risk maternal and child care, and serves as one of the few Kansas City metro area institutions accredited by The Joint Commission in Orthopedics and Palliative Care. It also is home to a 188-bed, fully accredited long-term care center.
UH Behavioral Health is the KC metro area's largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. The Crossroads Building, located in Kansas City's vibrant Crossroads Arts District, is its epicenter, providing a broad list of outpatient services. Job Description
Personnel will be competent and able to work in all areas of SPD. Functions as a resource on decontamination, processing and sterilization of instrumentation. Performs decontamination, processing and sterilization of instrumentation. Assists in the daily preparation/fill for the surgical cases carts. Perform heavy manual labor to include receiving, storage, distribution and inventory control of equipment and supplies. Perform data entry computer work.
Minimum Requirements
* High school diploma or GED.
* Successfully completed a Central Service/Instrument Technician Certification and/or education program, or completion of a Surgical Technology Program, or 5 years experience working as an instrument technician in an Operating Room setting.
* If promoted from within TMC has completed Central Service Technician competencies
* Familiar with sterilization equipment and supplies.
* Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
* Ability to input data into computer programs.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
* Good customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* 1 year experience working in SPD.
