About the Role

As the HS&E Specialist you will serve as a subject matter expert for continuous safety improvement and compliance with regulatory agencies facilitating root cause analysis and correction action strategies. Ensure all components of the Watlow Safety Management System are adhered to by all Watlow Team Members. You will find a challenging opportunity supporting our site that produces high-quality products that will serve leading companies in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, sustainable energy production, medical equipment, and food safety. You will contribute to identifying ways to proactively reduce risk, develop train and implement programs that keep team members knowledgeable of safety and health regulations and policies. You will additionally conduct inspections and audits as required.

Services:
  • Facilitate root cause and corrective action to proactively reduce risk.
  • Manage 1st aid cases.
  • Ensure all safety supplies are purchased and in stock when needed
  • Administer proactive regulatory HS&E programs and corrective actions to continuously improve HS&E.
  • Administer audit processes to identify opportunities and utilize data to formulate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct HS&E training to all levels of the organization as required by Watlow Operations.
  • Sign off on equipment and cell designs to ensure that ergonomic and other safety issues are addressed.
  • Administrator of a functional capacity pre-employment exam
  • Administrator of a random drug screen program
  • Administrator of a qualification, prequalification program for all contractors and machine building vendors.
  • Responsible for all governmental reporting

Delivery:
  • Coordinate and conduct HS&E training to all levels of the site.
  • Chair or co-chair the safety committee meetings.
  • Drive ergonomics throughout the entire facility including production floor and offices.
  • Drive floor level activities that reduce accident rate
  • Site Champion for International Organization for Standardization (ISO)18001.
  • Site Champion for ISO 14001.

Business Partner:
  • Work closely with HS&E Director, Site Leadership Team, Safety Specialists, and Safety Committee.
  • Work directly with Workers Compensation Carriers with limited authority to close cases.

Center of Expertise (COE)
  • Advanced knowledge:
  • Watlow Safety Management System
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Site required inspections and audits

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Certified Safety Health Official (CSHO) Technical certification
  • OSHA 30 hour certification
  • Leadership aptitude
