The Salvation Army, a global organization dedicated to serving communities, is seeking an E-Commerce Associate. This role is pivotal in managing the online sales process, ensuring that our mission is upheld through effective merchandise handling and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the logistics of shipping and handling sold items, ensuring prompt delivery to customers.
- Manage inventory systems to maintain accurate records of available products and secure storage of incoming merchandise.
- Develop and refine product listings, guaranteeing that descriptions, images, and specifications are precise and appealing.
- Identify and select valuable items for online sale from our inventory.
- Conduct functionality tests on products, particularly electronics and jewelry, to ensure quality before listing.
- Create visually engaging photographs of merchandise to enhance online presentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through various communication channels, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy in both written and verbal communications.
- Achieve daily posting goals and meet sales targets as established by management.
- Exhibit efficiency and productivity through effective time management and workload prioritization.
- Show a willingness to learn and develop new skills within the organization.
- Collaborate with management and team members to support the daily operations of the e-commerce department.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with online retail platforms and basic knowledge of graphic design software is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Experience in customer service or retail, with a focus on high-quality merchandise.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, and lifting as required.
- Capability to move and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required for extensive computer use.
