Work Location: Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY 11232 - Must be able to travel between numerous worksites within Brooklyn
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week - Temporary June 1 - August 31, 2024
Salary Range: $18.00/hour - $20.00/hour
Program Summary:
In collaboration with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) BCS administers the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) which provides young people ages 14-24 the opportunity to explore different career opportunities.. The goal of the SYEP is to facilitate the long-term employment and self-sufficiency of youth by helping them to 1) acquire professional skills, habits, and networks; 2) develop a greater understanding of the higher education and career options available to them; and 3) build life skills and financial capabilities for their transition to adulthood.
Position Summary:
The SYEP Worksite Monitor conducts weekly worksite visits to check in with participants and conduct written work site assessments. Visits will ensure safe and productive work environments for program participants and employer satisfaction. Retrieval of weekly time sheets, evaluations, and job placement referrals from each participant.
Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Tasks:
* Assist in the implementation of program policies and procedures.
* Manage paperwork related to participant enrollment, attendance, and evaluations.
* Organize and maintain files, both physical and electronic.
* Prepare reports on program activities and outcomes as required.
2. Recordkeeping:
* Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and progress.
* Document any incidents or issues that arise during program activities..
* Ensure compliance with DYCD policies
3. Communication:
* Serve as a liaison between program staff, participants, and parents/guardians.
* Communicate program expectations and rules to participants.
* Address participant concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
* Collaborate with other site monitors and program coordinators to ensure smooth operation of activities.
* Build positive relationships with participants, worksite supervisors ensuring a highly collaborative environment

4. Attention to Detail:
* Pay close attention to participant behavior and adherence to program guidelines.
* Review paperwork and forms for accuracy and completeness.
* Monitor the condition and maintenance of program facilities and equipment.
* Identify and address any safety hazards or concerns promptly.\
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma and some college experience preferred.
* Previous SYEP experience preferred
* Excellent attention to detail and office procedures
* Strong computer skills, Google Suite, Microsoft Office and data management programs
* Experience in youth development programs.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills including the ability to create and nurture a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that prioritizes the safety and emotional well-being of all participants.
* Ability to manage program participants and nurture professional growth and development
* Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders
