POSITION SUMMARY

The Environmental Compliance Specialist position is responsible to ensure compliance, organization, and performance of our company's environmental programs required by local, state, and federal agencies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Assist with organizing and sustaining the programs, policies, and procedures to maintain compliant with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
* Maintain and update the regulatory reporting sites for the various regulatory agencies (CERS, TRUCRS, DOORS. LSI, PERP, AQC, etc.)
* Review the SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure) plans for all our company sites, make revisions as needed and coordinate plan renewals with third-party consultants.
* Monitor expiration dates and validity of Hazardous Waste Tank and Secondary Containment Assessment Documents. Coordinate with third- party consultants for revisions, renewals, and additional assessments.
* Submitting Annual EPA ID Number Verification Questionnaires to DTSC for all company locations.
* Submitting Annual Throughput Forms for applicable locations, to the various AQMD.
* Attend CARB/Local AQMD/other organizations workshops and board meetings to remain informed of and help influence legislation.
* Work with Caterpillar and other manufacturers to guide product development and assist in resolving product issues.
* Represent our company as Caterpillar's Product Emissions Liaison.
* Assist in evaluating corporate environmental management practices to establish where sustainable improvements can be implemented while maintaining or improving regulatory compliance.
* Assist with all environmental projects as business requires.
* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of five years environmental work-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job.
* Possess knowledge of emissions regulations in conjunction with local/state AQM districts/boards.
* Possess knowledge of Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste management requirements in conjunction with California DTSC and Federal EPA regulations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV report.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $30 - $35 Hourly.

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
